Sometimes you just don’t have time to sit down and read through a book. With kids and cleaning and taking care of the home and cooking and cleaning some more, it’s always nice to have something you can carry around with you to read when you have the time. I love magazines because every couple months I have new short stories to read and new tips for whatever season we’re currently in. They’re smaller than books usually and easy to fold up into your bag while you’re out running errands. That’s why I decided for this edition of ‘What I’m Reading’ I’d share some of my favorite magazines.
Mother Earth News – Each issue has a wealth of information of how to lead a more sustainable life.
Backyard Poultry – Maybe you don’t live on 20 acres in the country but love having a small flock of hens around, this is a great resource for all things poultry!
The New Pioneer – A wide range of topics that all come down to self-reliance on a large scale and even on a small backyard scale.
Chickens – The name speaks for itself really. A publication from the editors of Hobby Farms and Urban Farms Magazines. If you love chickens you’ll love this magazine!
There you go, that should be a good start to some magazines to subscribe to if you’re starting a homesteading journey or even if you’re a veteran homesteader.
